Eatsë ("the app") is operated by Grey Dog Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you create an account and use the app, we collect:
- Account identifiers — your email address (or Apple ID identifier if you sign in with Apple), and your authenticated user ID.
- Taste profile — allergens you avoid, dietary preferences, cuisines you like, spice tolerance, cooking comfort, kitchen equipment, household size (adults / kids), and your preferred unit system.
- Meal planning data — dishes you add to your plan, the day each meal is scheduled for, recipes generated for those dishes, ingredient ratings, and the items on your grocery list.
- Usage counters — a daily count of recipe-generation requests, used to enforce a per-user fair-use limit on AI-generation costs.
We do not collect: your real name (unless you give it to Apple), your phone number, your contacts, your location, your photos, or your payment information. Subscription billing, when enabled, is handled by Apple and our subscription provider; we never see your card or payment details.
How we use it
Your taste profile and meal planning data are used solely to generate recipes and grocery lists tailored to you, and to display them back to you inside the app. We do not sell, rent, or share any of your data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
Service providers
The app relies on a small number of third-party services to function. Each receives only the minimum data needed:
- Supabase — stores your account and meal data (servers located in the United States).
- Anthropic — generates the dish suggestions and recipe text. Each request includes your taste profile and dish name; requests are not used to train Anthropic models per their API policy.
- USDA FoodData Central — provides public nutrition information. We send only the names of ingredients (e.g., "olive oil") to look up macros; no account data is included.
- Apple — handles Sign in with Apple and, when enabled, subscription billing.
- PostHog — receives anonymous product analytics events (which screens you visit, which features you tap). It does not receive your email, taste profile, or recipe content.
We do not share data with any other parties.
